Roundtrip Hispaniola

Day 01
Pick up by our representative on arrival at the airport.
Transfer to Juan Dolio, Romana or Higuey, depending of the airport used.
Accommodation and dinner at the Hotel.

Day 02  Samanį
After breakfast early in the morning, departure to Sabana de la Mar, through sugar cane fields and mountains filled with tropical forest.
Around 10:00 we will board a local boat to cross the Samanį Bay.
We will describe this as folkloric wet adventure, therefore, the
passengers should be aware of the possibility of ending this trip completely wet.
Appropriate light clothes and camera's water protection is strongly recommended.
Time at leisure in the Fantasy Island of Cayo Levantado. Lunch is not included.
Around 16:00 departure from the island. Boarding the bus, short visit to Samana City.
Lodging and dinner at the Hotel in Samana, Las Terrenas or Rio San Juan. Night at leisure.

Day 03  Cabarete
Breakfast at the Hotel. Departure to Rio San Juan visiting Gri-Gri Lagoon.
Boarding a boat we will ride, through the mangroves to Caleton Beach and Swallow's Cave.
Lunch by your own. Around 13:30 hrs departure to Cabarete.
Lodging and dinner at the hotel in Cabarete or Sosua. Night at leisure.

Day 04 Puerto Plata / Sosua
Breakfast at the Hotel. Sightseeing of Puerto Plata, visiting Fort San Felipe,
downtown and the most interesting areas in this Victorian village.
Visit of hotel area and Sosua, a community established in the 40's with the arrival of
European Jewish colonists. After visiting Sosua, time for swimming.
Don't forget your towel and bathing suit! In the afternoon, return to the hotel.
Dinner at the hotel and evening at leisure.

Day 05 Cabarete / Santiago / Jarabacoa
Breakfast at the Hotel. At 8:30am departure through the northern chain of mountains to Santiago, the second largest city. A short tour of the city, including a visit to a handmade cigar factory.
Visit to a rum factory will be included here or the day before in Puerto Plata.
Lunch in Santiago by your own. Crossing through the highest mountains in the Caribbean, we will continue towards Jarabacoa, well known for its fresh air and mountain scenery.
We will stop on the way to allow for a local handicraft shopping. Lodging and dinner at the Hotel.

Day 06 Jarabacoa / SANTO CERRO / Santo Domingo
Breakfast at the Hotel. Horseback excursion of the Jarabacoa Mountains for the early birds. After lunch at the hotel, departure to visit the Santo Cerro, where a battle between Indians and Spaniards took place during Columbus first trip across the island in 1453. Arrival in Santo Domingo and lodging at the Hotel. Night at leisure. Dinner is not included.

Day 07 Santo  Domingo
Breakfast at the Hotel. At 8:30am departure from the hotel for a visit of the colonial area of Santo Domingo and the handicraft's market, Mercado Modelo.
If the night tour is not included in the program, lunch in a restaurant will be provided at the end of the tour. Afternoon at leisure. For those with night tour included:
At 20:00 hrs departure from the hotel for a short visit of the Port Avenue and the illuminated colonial area.
Dinner in the well known restaurant Meson de la Cava.
Approximately at 22:30 hrs departure to El Malecon, center of the nightlife in Santo Domingo and visit to Hotel Jaragua's Casino where you can try your luck or enjoy the Dominican music in a very popular bar.
The bus will be at the entrance at 00:30.
Those that would like to stay will come back to the hotel by their own.

Day 08 Santo Domingo / La Romana / Higuey
Breakfast at the Hotel. At 8:30am departure to La Romana, a city at the east of the island.
On route we will visit the Three Eyes, crystalline water fountains located in a deep fern covered cave, the Columbus Lighthouse and time available to see the Aquarium if desired.
We will pass by the beaches of Boca Chica and Juan Dolio, the city of San Pedro de Macoris and the sugar cane fields of this region. Arriving at La Romana, passing by the touristic complex of Casa de Campo, one of the most exclusive Places in the Caribbean,
we will visit Altos de Chavon, the Artist's Village, a replica of a 16th Century Mediterranean village with a magnificent view over the Chavon River.
Time for a visit to the permanent painting exhibition, the Indian Museum and for lunch by your own.
During the afternoon, departure to the airport or to your next vacation's destination.
